Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of perceived organizational support on organizational citizenship behavior, represented by its main dimensions (altruism, courtesy, conscientiousness, sportsmanship, and civic virtue), among of humanitarian associations operating in Tartous Governorate, including (Angelic Association of Anis Saade, Fada Association, and Family Planning Association). The study adopted a descriptive methodology, and primary data were collected through an electronic questionnaire designed to achieve the research objective. The questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of 161 employees from the targeted associations, of which 119 valid responses were retrieved for analysis, yielding a response rate of 75%. Statistical analysis using SPSS V25 revealed a moderate level of perceived organizational support and a good - high level of organizational citizenship behaviors in the studied associations. Furthermore, simple regression analysis indicated a statistically significant effect of perceived organizational support at the 0.05 significance level on all dimensions of organizational citizenship behavior, with explanatory power ranging between (15.2 -47.5%). The researcher proposed several recommendations, most notably: leveraging the high culture of altruism by disseminating success stories related to voluntary assistance to motivate all employees to sustain such practices; strengthening organizational support through clear policies that tangibly reflect the association’s appreciation of its members; and designing programs to enhance institutional participation and civic virtue behaviors among employees of the studied associations
