This research aimed to explore the role of Expert Systems (ES) technologies in enhancing Knowledge Management (KM) maturity at the National Hospital in Tartous, while filling the cognitive gap in local Arabic literature regarding this technical integration. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, conducted on a sample of (49) medical and administrative staff members using a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The research addressed ES dimensions (Knowledge Base, User Interface, and Decision Support Capabilities) as the independent variable, and KM maturity as the dependent variable. The findings revealed a moderate level of ES application with a mean of (3.42), and a moderate level of KM maturity with a mean of (3.27). Furthermore, the results established a strong positive correlation and a statistically significant impact of ES on enhancing KM maturity by (39.1%), alongside a relative weakness in Explanation Facility. The study recommended the necessity of transitioning from the stage of routine administrative automation to activating intelligent Inference Engines to enhance the system's advisory role in critical medical decisions and to safeguard specialized expertise from loss.
