Syntactic cohesion is a fundamental element in constructing the artistic image in the Quranic text, forming a network of syntactic relationships that connect words and phrases with precise links, generating meaning and intensifying significance. An example in Surah Al-Kahf, the value of cohesion is evident in its ability to solidify the linguistic structure and make the artistic image a coherent whole in which movement, time, color, and scene interact.
Simile, metaphor, metonymy, and figurative language are strengthened grammatical structure that organizes their elements, such as the cohesion between successive verbs, which gives the image its dynamism, or the cohesion between nominal and verbal clauses, which reinforces psychological and doctrinal meanings. This cohesion also contributes to opening the way for the emergence of new figurative images by moving from direct grammatical meaning to a deeper artistic meaning. Thus, cohesion becomes an effective tool in creating harmony and aesthetic clarity in the image, revealing the precision and artistic richness of Qur'anic expression.
