The study aimed to reveal the degree to which mathematics teachers practice mental arithmetic skills in teaching mathematics at the basic education stage in the city of Lattakia. The study population consisted of all mathematics teachers at the basic stag in the city of Lattakia, numbering 270 male and female teachers. The sample was selected using a simple random method and numbered 81 male and female teachers. A study tool, a questionnaire, was developed, consisting in its initial form of 37 items. The study showed the following results: There were no statistically significant differences between the scores of the study sample members on the questionnaire regarding the degree to which mathematics teachers practice mental arithmetic skills in teaching mathematics at the basic education stage and each of its two axes, attributable to the variables of gender, academic and educational qualification, and years of experience,, and about the current situation, to successfully present the attention of the authors :
1- Designing comprehensive professional training programs that focus on mental arithmetic skills. These programs should include workshops and practical avtivities to enhance teachers' skills in this area.
2- Studying other factors that may influence the practice of mental arithmetic skills, such as the type of training or the educational stage .
