Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the degree of artificial intelligence (AI) use in Syrian public universities from the perspective of faculty members. To achieve this goal, a descriptive approach was used. A sample of (105) faculty members was drawn randomly from a number of scientific and theoretical colleges at the Universities of Tartous and Lattakia. A questionnaire consisting of (40) items was used as the primary tool for data collection. The results indicated that the use of AI in Syrian public universities, from the perspective of faculty members, was low. The results also showed no statistically significant differences in the degree of AI use in Syrian public universities attributable to the variables of academic rank and number of years of experience of faculty members. The researcher recommended increasing the number of training courses and workshops on the application of AI technologies in Syrian public universities, its use in scientific research, and updating university library systems to suit the application of AI.
