The research aimed to identify the degree of organizational ambidexterity practiced by secondary school principals in Tartous city, focusing on its two dimensions (exploitation and exploration) from the perspective of teachers. It also sought to detect statistical differences in these evaluations based on gender, academic qualification, and years of experience. To achieve this, the research adopted a descriptive-analytical approach and was applied to the entire population of secondary school teachers in the city, totaling (393) teachers. A comprehensive survey method (total population sampling) was used due to the small size of the population. After excluding the pilot sample, the questionnaire was distributed to (363) teachers, and (311) valid responses were retrieved for statistical analysis.
The results showed that the degree of organizational ambidexterity practiced by secondary school principals in Tartous city, from the teachers' perspective, was at a moderate level, with a significant disparity in performance; exploitation practices, which reflect resource efficiency and compliance with regulations, outperformed exploration and innovation practices. This indicates that principals adopt a management style focused on stabilizing current school work and improving routine operations, with an urgent need to enhance developmental vision and seek creative solutions to achieve the desired organizational balance. Furthermore, the results revealed no statistically significant differences in teachers' evaluations of the principals' degree of organizational ambidexterity attributable to the variables of gender, academic qualification, or years of experience.
