Information Technology – Organizational Structure – Private Banks.Abstract
This study aimed to identify the impact of information technology on organizational structure in private banks in Tartous Governorate.
The researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical approach to describe the phenomenon as it exists in reality. A questionnaire was used as the main tool for data collection, covering information technology and the dimensions of organizational structure (complexity, centralization, and formalization).
The questionnaire was distributed to a simple random sample of 70 administrative employees working in these banks. Arithmetic means, standard deviations, and multiple regression analysis were applied using the statistical software (SPSS25).
The results indicated a significant correlation between information technology and organizational structure in the private banks under study, with Pearson’s correlation coefficient (R) reaching 0.872.
This demonstrates a strong positive impact of information technology on organizational structure. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.760, meaning that information technology explains 76% of the variance in organizational structure. The study recommended enhancing investment in information systems within private banks, redesigning organizational procedures, and developing clear policies for centralization and decentralization.
