The dialysis solution preparation process is of great importance to the success of the hemodialysis process. The more precisely and carefully the solution is prepared, the better and faster the dialysis process. In this research, a fuzzy control system was designed to adjust the parameters of the PID controller to regulate the dialysis fluid conductivity in a dialysis machine for kidney failure patients. The system was based on a mathematical model developed by )Fallman.Mans ,2016). This model relied on real measurements and standard values of the acid and bicarbonate pumps (the two main components of the dialysis fluid) to automatically maintain conductivity throughout the dialysis session, ensuring the machine does not stop. This resulted in a more reliable, accurate, and faster methodology for preparing the dialysis solution to improve the efficiency of the dialysis process. Comparisons were made with a conventional PID controller, and the results confirmed the effectiveness of the FUZZY PID controller, as it eliminated the maximum overshoot, improved the settling time by 27%, and stabilized the system with a small static error of 2%.
