Abstract

The research deals with the Yemeni treaties with three European countries: Italy in 1926, the Netherlands in 1933, and France in 1936. It begins with a historical introduction that talks about the departure of the Ottomans from Yemen in 1918, and how Imam Yahya came to rule in northen Yemen and the political and economic problems that stood in his way, It then sheds light on the circumstances, causes, and consequences of each of those treaties individually, noting the factors that made Imam Yahya Hamid al-Din eager to conclude them, in addition to explaining the effects of those treaties on the political forces in Yemen and their political and economic effects on those countries, The research also dealt with the texts of those treaties as they appeared in their original form, with commentary, analysis and comparison between them.
