Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the level of classroom leadership skills and self-efficacy among first-grade teachers in basic education in the city of Tartous, and to examine the relationship between them. The study followed a descriptive correlational design. The research sample consisted of 251 teachers of the first-grade level during the 2024/2025 academic year. The study employed a Classroom Leadership Skills Scale developed by the researcher and a Self-Efficacy Scale adapted from Tschannen-Moran and Hoy (2001), after verifying their validity and reliability. The results indicated that teachers’ classroom leadership skills were high, with a mean score of 4.1166 and a standard deviation of 0.42731, and all dimensions of the scale were at a high level. Similarly, the findings showed that teachers’ self-efficacy levels were high, with a mean of 4.1249 and a standard deviation of 0.45595, and all scale dimensions were also at a high level. Furthermore, the results revealed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.658) between classroom leadership skills and self-efficacy among teachers.
