□ ABSTRACT□
The watchtower is a field that embodies the aesthetic value of the sublime, because it transcends humankind and proves its powerlessness before it. The watchtower instills fear and awe in the hearts of those who attempt to ascend it, for it possesses distinct qualities: it is distant, vast, elevated, and smooth. These qualities make it a frightening and mysterious watchtower
The sublime, in one of its manifestations, is based on fear and strength. Fear, on the other hand, is generated by the frightening subject that cannot be represented because it is based on ambiguity. This was embodied in the watchtower. The vagabond poets chose this frightening place to demonstrate the strength and courage their poetic selves possess, thus storming death embodied in the watchtower. In this storming, the majesty of death extends to the self, making it a sublime self when it instills within it feelings of fear and awe
The majesty of the poetic self derived its infinity from the majesty of the watchtower, when the poet was able to ascend it, surpassing his peers among his tribe
