The present study aimed to identify the level of psychological empowerment and job performance, as well as the relationship between them among a sample of school counselors in the city of Tartous. It also sought to determine the predictive ability of psychological empowerment in explaining job performance,The researchers utilized the Psychological Empowerment Scale (Al-Zahrani & Ahmed, 2016), originally developed by Spreitzer (1995), and the Job Performance Scale (Al-Samadi & Al-Talhien, 2016). The instruments were administered to a research sample consisting of (132) male and female counselors working in second-cycle basic education schools in Tartous Governorate. The study adopted the descriptive method. The results revealed that the level of psychological empowerment was high, with a mean score of (3.3794), and the level of job performance was also high, with a mean score of (3.5950). Moreover, a moderately strong positive correlation was found between psychological empowerment and job performance. And Psychological empowerment, in all its dimensions, contributes to predicting job performance, with the exception of the two dimensions of (meaning and impact).
