This research examines the policies of king Louis XIV, and his conflicts with Europe, Louis XIV reign is characterized by his domestic policies, implemented through ministers such as Mazarin and Colbert, it is essential to note the absolute nature of the kings power, as he concentrated all authority in his own hands based on the divine right of kings, believing that power was derived from God, accordingly he directed his policies toward internal reforms to organize the affaires of the country, Externally, under Louis XIV, France sought to expand its influence on the European continent, whether for hereditary reasons or for political, economic, and military motives.
This reflected the kings ambitions to make france the dominant power in European affairs, this policy resulted in continuous conflicts with the major powers of the time, such as Spain and the Netherlands, which directly affected the European balance of power and contributed to the reshaping of political and military alliances on the continent, the research also highlights the close interaction between internal reforms and foreign policies in strengthening frances position as a powerful central state, and shows how these policies helped achieve the kings expansionist goals, making Louis XIV reign apivotal period in the political, military, and economic history of Europe.
