Abstract

The study aimed to determine the level of body image according to its dimensions (cognitive-emotional-social) among a sample of obese people who frequent private sports clubs in the city of Tartous, and to study the differences in body image according to the variable (gender, marital status, age).To test the study hypotheses, the Body Image Scale prepared by (Dragmeh, 2018) was used and applied to a sample of (90) obese people who frequent private sports clubs.

The results of the study showed that (66.7%) of the sample had a positive body imaged. There were no statistically significant differences according to the gender variable (male, female).and there were statistically significant differences in body image according to the variable marital status (married, unmarried) in favor of unmarried women, and there were statistically significant differences in body image according to the variable age (less than 25, from 25-35, more than 35)
