Abstract

This paper explores the phenomenon of repetition in modern Arabic

  Poetry from the perspective of contemporary stylistics. It aims to reveal the aesthetics, semantics, and  functional dimensions of repetition, examining its influence on the structure of the poetic text, the construction of internal rhythm, avd the reinforcement of textual cohesion, through analytical applications on selected poems by Nizar Qabbani.

The study is based on the hypothesis that repetition in modern Arabic poetry is not merely decorative or superficial, but rather a functional device that contributes to the generation of meaning, the shaping of tonal voice, and the creation of emotional tension.

The study adopted the stylistic analysis approach, which is based on a linguistic and semantic reading of the texts.                                 

The results concluded that the hypothesis was confirmed, as it was found that repetition in Nizar Qabbani’s poetry combines aesthetic, psychological, and semantic functions, and constitutes a fundamental structural element in shaping modern poetic discourse.
