The present study aimed to investigate the level of self-awareness among
eighth-grade preparatory students in selected public schools in Deir ez-Zor city, and to identify differences in mean scores based on gender variable on the self-awareness scale. The research adopted a descriptive design, and the study sample consisted of )120( male and female students )40 males, 80 females( enrolled in the eighth grade in certain public schools in Deir ez-Zor city, selected through random sampling. To achieve the research objectives, the Self-Awareness Scale )Al-Qarra Ghuli, 2011( was administered. The results revealed that the overall level of self-awareness among the sample members was moderate. Furthermore, the findings indicated statistically significant differences in self-awareness in favor of females in both private self-awareness and the total score, while no significant differences were found in public self-awareness.
