Abstract

The study aimed to determine the degree of kindergarten children's possession of certain language skills (listening and speaking) at the ages of 5-6. A descriptive approach was used, and the sample included (120) children drawn using a stratified random sampling method. The study tools consisted of a language skills test (listening and speaking) for kindergarten children (5-6 years old), prepared by Suleiman (2025). The study reached the following results: The degree of correction of speaking skills among children aged 4-5 years was moderate. The results also indicated that kindergarten children's possession of certain language skills was moderate. The results also indicated statistically significant differences between the children's average scores on the language skills test (listening and speaking) for kindergarten children, attributed to the variable of the educational qualification of the parents (father and mother), with both diploma holders and postgraduate students being attributable.
