Abstract

The study aimed to identify the degree of availability of organizational flexibility dimensions (structural flexibility, strategic flexibility, operational flexibility, and human resources flexibility) among secondary school principals in Lattakia city from the teachers' perspective. It also aimed to determine the significance of differences between the average responses of the sample members regarding the availability of organizational flexibility dimensions based on the variables of (gender, academic qualification, and years of experience).

The research adopted a descriptive approach. The study sample size was 313 teachers, who were surveyed using a questionnaire. A total of 296 complete and valid questionnaires were retrieved for statistical analysis.

The results showed that secondary school principals in Lattakia possess a moderate level of flexibility in its structural, strategic, operational, and human resources aspects. They have strengths in facilitating communication and supporting teachers, but they face challenges in areas such as response speed, delegation of authority, innovating solutions, and involving teachers in formulating strategies. Furthermore, operational flexibility needs adjustments to daily procedures, and human resources flexibility requires enhancing professional development, psychological support, and building a culture of trust. Additionally, the research results did not show statistically significant differences in teachers' perceptions of organizational flexibility based on gender, academic qualification, or years of experience.
