The research aimed to study university students' attitudes toward the portrayal of women in Syrian media. To achieve this goal, a descriptive and analytical approach was used, along with a social sample survey. The research was conducted in the field among sociology students at the Universities of Lattakia and Damascus, using a scale developed by the researcher. After collecting and analyzing the data using the SPSS program, a set of results was reached, the most important of which were: low satisfaction among the research sample members with the portrayal of women in Syrian media, and that the stereotypical image of family roles or the image of women as decoration and commodity is the dominant image in the media, whether through TV series, advertisements, or other media materials. It was also found that there were differences in the responses of sample members regarding satisfaction with this portrayal, with gender in favor of males, place of residence in favor of rural areas, and academic year in favor of first and second years. No differences were found regarding the home university. At the end of the research, a set of proposals was presented that could contribute to improving the portrayal of women in Syrian media.
