The current research aimed to uncover the prevalence of psychological alienation among a sample of married women in the absence of their husbands, to identify the most prevalent manifestations, and to examine the relationship between the reason for the husband's absence (death, travel, divorce), the wife’s employment status (employed, unemployed), the presence of children (yes, no), and the level of psychological alienation. To achieve the research objectives, the psychological alienation scale, prepared by the researcher in 2017 in previous study was used. The scale was applied to an available sample of married women consisting of (92) wives visiting the Women's Support and Empowerment Center at the Mosaic Association for Relief and Humanitarian Development in the city of Lattakia. The results revealed a high prevalence of psychological alienation among the research sample, at a rate of 73.91%. The findings indicated that the most common manifestations of psychological alienation were normlessness, followed by powerlessness, then purposelessness, and finally meaninglessness. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the psychological alienation experienced by the research sample based on the variable of the husband’s absence, favoring absence due to travel. Additionally, statistically significant differences were found based on the wife’s employment status, favoring unemployed wives, as well as based on the presence of children, favoring wives without children
