Abstract

The current research aims to determine the level of body image among breast cancer patients receiving treatment at National Hospital in the city of Tartous. The differences in body image among members of the research sample are known according to the variables of (age- marital status). The descriptive approach was followed, the researcher used the body image scale she prepared for breast cancer patients (Baxter, 1998), the scale was applied to (44) breast cancer patients, Accordingly, the results of the research found (56.8%) sample members have a level of satisfaction with the body image. There are also no statistically significant differences between the average scores of the research sample members on the body image scale according to the (age) variable, and the results also showed that there is a statistically significant differences between the average degrees of members of the research sample members on the body image scale the body with its cognitive behavioral dimensions according to the variable (the marital status) in favor of married women, and the absence of a statistically significant differences in the emotional dimension.
