Abstract

This study aims to research/dive into one of the artistic methods in narrative narration, which is stream of consciousness, dealing with the most prominent methods of psychoanalysis and stream of consciousness techniques in the novel “The Great Transformation” by the Syrian novelist “Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Ali,” by shedding light on its tools and revealing About the most important techniques involved in its composition, and its artistic levels, through the procedural analysis of the novel, as one of the models indicating the presence of the stream of consciousness in the Syrian Arab novel.

The study concluded that the stream of consciousness was among the important methods adopted by the Syrian Arab novel in the era studied, by employing new methods and methods in the styles of artistic expression, and the advent of the novel “The Great Transformation” was a pioneering novel in this field, because of the features of the stream of consciousness and its techniques, which It was an essential feature of it.

The research also reached results that show the aesthetics of the stream of consciousness novel, its role in elevating Syrian novel texts to semantic and artistic heights, and the reflection of this role in the Syrian novel scene, in the era in which the Syrian Arab novel was able to move with artistic boldness and a new vision from the shades of romanticism to realism.
