The present study aimed to identify the degree of digital skills possessed by graduate students in the Faculty of Education at the Universities of Latakia and Tartous. To achieve this, an electronic questionnaire comprising three axes was prepared and distributed to a sample of (127) male and female students in the postgraduate stage (Master's, PhD) at the Universities of Latakia and Tartous. The descriptive approach was adopted, and student responses were analyzed using the (SPSS) program. The results were as follows:
Overall, postgraduate students in the Faculty of Education at the Universities of Tartous possess digital skills at a medium level. However, conversely, students possess the skill of verifying the credibility of programs they download from the internet at a low level. Students face difficulties that limit their digital skills to a high degree, with the high cost of internet subscription packages being one of the biggest difficulties weakening their digital skills.
The results also indicated the existence of statistically significant differences (0.05) in favor of PhD students in all axes of digital skills, and the absence of statistically significant differences between the two universities in all axes of the study.
In light of the reached results, the study presented a set of proposals, the most important of which are: integrating digital skills into university curricula, providing advanced digital infrastructure, and providing workshops and intensive courses at the university level.
