Abstract

Implementing crisis management in health organizations is an urgent necessity that requires the presence of human resources capable of confronting the crisis in all its stages. This study aimed to identify the role of head nurses in dealing with various stages of crises at the National Hospital in Tartous. The study also aimed to determine their ability to handle crises, as well as their roles before, during, and after crises. The sample included 54 head nurses working at the National Hospital in Tartous. Data was collected using a tool developed by the researcher. The overall results of the study showed that all participants demonstrated average crisis management skills in the "pre-crisis phase", good crisis management skills "during the crisis phase", and average crisis management skills in the "post-crisis phase". The study recommended the need to develop head nurses skills across various departments in dealing with crises by providing training courses and seminars related to crisis management, most importantly the ability to predict potential crises.
