Background: Cesarean section(CS) is among the most common globally in which maternal morbidity related to CS is a major public health concern across the world.
Aim: the effect of platelet rich plasma(PRP) injection at the site of uterine incision on temperature and pain after surgery.
Materials and Methods: the study included of 50 primigravida pregnant women, admitted at the department of obstetrics and gynecology , Lattakia University Hospital, during two-years (2023-2025). Women were divided into groups; group 1(13 cases) with injection of PRP at the site of uterine incision and group 2(37 cases) without injection of PRP.
Results: The mean age was 28.56±5.1. After 12 hours of delivery, there were no significant differences between two groups regarding the rate of temperature change 0.07±0.1 in PRP group versus 0.12±0.2 in other group,p=0.7. In addition to, the frequency of postoperative pain in PRP group was 0% versus 16.2% in other group with presence of significant differences,p= 0.01.
