Abstract

Time management is one of the key factors that directly impact nursing performance, as it enables nurses to organize tasks and set priorities, which is reflected in the quality of care provided to patients. The more effectively a nurse manages their time, the less stress they experience and the greater their efficiency. This contributes to improved communication, faster response times, and accurate documentation, which enhances patient safety and satisfaction. Therefore, the current correlative descriptive study aimed to evaluate the relationship between time management and job performance among nursing department heads. The study sample included (60) head nursing at Baniyas and Al-Qadmous National Hospitals in Tartous Governorate and Jableh National Hospital in Lattakia Governorate. They were selected using a convenience sample method. Study data was collected using a questionnaire designed after reviewing previous studies. The results showed that participants had a low level of time management in general and in each of its dimensions (time planning, time organization, time direction, and time control); they also had a low level of job performance in general and in each of its dimensions (quality of work performed, quantity of work performed, and commitment to work); There is a significant, positive statistical relationship between the participating head nurses' level of time management and their level of job performance. The researcher recommended organizing workshops and training courses on time management, including planning tools, prioritization, and effective delegation techniques.
