دراسة الواقع الحالي لحديقة المشتل الزراعي في جامعة اللاذقية ومقترحات تحسينه

Abstract

This research was conducted in Lattakia during the year 2024-2025 with the aim of describing the current reality of the agricultural nursery garden at Lattakia University. This was done through a field study to determine the location, area, and coordination system followed, and to identify the various coordination elements, and to know the places of failure in the coordination of this garden, and to prepare the final plan for the garden, and to put forward  appropriate proposals to achieve the improvement of the general view and to show the aesthetic aspect and the feeling of comfort.                                     

 The field study shows that the system followed in the coordination of the garden is the modern or free system, as some important basic rules and principles in the coordination of the garden were not adhered to, such as gradation, symmetry, sovereignty, simplicity, apparent breadth, and others. The aesthetic dimension of the garden is not well achieved despite the beauty of the species planted in it as individual models above the green surface due to the lack of accuracy in the distribution and employment of plant components, which affected its beauty, so it appeared unbalanced and crowded in terms of the number of plant species and the number of individuals of each species in a way that is not proportional to the area of ​​the garden.                                                               

 The garden lacked a variety of colors due to the lack of annual and perennial flowering herbaceous plants, whether in the middle of the green space or on its borders. The garden also lacked some structural components such as benches, wastebaskets, and others .here is a clear effort in maintaining the garden and its various service operations, but no attention has been given to the shape pruning of some of the species present in it. In addition, the green area is incomplete and contains some voids and strange weeds     .
