Today, the electrical energy generated by wind turbines occupies a large part of the total electrical energy generated worldwide. Given the importance of its use in the field of energy and environment, this research has completed a statistical analysis of wind speeds in the city of Tartous using the Weibull statistical distribution, whose coefficients were calculated using the standard deviation method. Based on this distribution, the annual electrical energy production of the Vestas V112 turbine with a capacity of 3 (MW) was calculated if it was installed in the conditions of the wind speeds of this city. The savings achieved in the amount of fuel needed to produce the same amount of electrical energy were also calculated, in addition to calculating the savings in the amount of carbon dioxide resulting from the combustion of this amount of fuel.
