Abstract

The field experiment was carried out on a private farm in the Jablah region, during the agricultural season (2024). Two varieties of Matricaria chamomilla (local - Egyptian) were treated with phosphorus and boron at concentrations (0 - 2 - 4 g/L). The experiment was designed according to a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replicates. The aim of the research was to study the behavior of the varieties used under the influence of phosphorus and boron and to determine the most effective concentration on plant growth and development, where some morphological traits were measured (plant height (cm) and number of branches per plant (branch/plant), productivity (number of flowers (flower/plant) and their weight (g/plant) per plant) and quality (essential oil content %). The Egyptian variety showed a higher response than the local variety under the influence of phosphorus and boron treatment in the traits (number of branches per plant (branch/plant), number of flowers per plant (flower/plant) and content of essential oil %), especially when treated with a concentration of 2 g/L and reached (23.67 branch/plant, 109.33 flower/plant, 0.737%) respectively, while the local variety showed a higher response in the trait of dry weight of flowers per plant (g/plant), especially when treated with a concentration of 2 g/L and reached (0.441 g/plant), while the results showed a stimulating effect when spraying with a concentration of 4 g/L only In the characteristic of plant height, for both the local and Egyptian varieties, it reached (30.17 - 41.67 cm), respectively.
